Preventing Maternal Mortality: Autonomy, Abortion and Access: The Role of the Human Rights System

September 8, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Join us for this side-event that will examine the connections between macroeconomics and sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as responses by different human rights actors.

This webinar will cover the structural causes of inequitable health care, as well as social determinants of health(ie. racism, classism, sexism, etc.), and how they impact sexual health, reproductive health, sexual rights, and reproductive rights. Social determinants of health are linked with maternal conditions being experienced by women and girls around the world, which is why it’s important to discuss them.

This side event, happening during the 54th session of the UN human rights council, is free and can be done online!

SASS is a registered non-profit, member-driven organization dedicated to eliminating sexual violence in Saskatchewan through research, public education, and advocacy.
