DESCRIPTION:Join us for this intensive 2-day virtual training on Comprehensive Victim Interviewing (CVI)\, led by veteran law enforcement investigators and other leading national experts. After opening with an interactive exercise based on a 911 call\, presenters will briefly review the scientific research on stress\, trauma\, and memory\, as well as research on what works – and doesn’t – when it comes to effective investigative interviews. This scientific and practical knowledge will then be applied to best practices for: \n\nConducting an initial interview and preliminary investigation\nPlanning\, preparing\, and conducting an in-depth victim interview\nDocumenting victim statements and other investigative findings\nFollowing up with additional interviews and an evolving investigation\, and\nSupporting best practices through bold and innovative leadership\n\nThrough engaging presentation\, compelling videos\, guided activities\, and interactive Q&A with leading national experts\, participants will walk away from this session better prepared to conduct effective victim interviews and evidence-based investigations.

DESCRIPTION:Youth may experience coercive control and abuse in the context of adult intimate partner violence\, divorce\, and separation. It is essential to acknowledge and respect the rights\, safety\, and well-being of young people navigating such situations. In this Webinar\, you will hear the voices of three youth advocates as they describe their experiences with coercive control and abuse\, and their subsequent experiences in the justice and service provision systems. This session explores the intersectional nature of Indigenous masculinity. Building healthier masculinities is a important step in standing up against violence towards women and children.\n \nMoose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led grassroots movement of men\, boys\, and all Canadians – standing up to end violence against women and children. Efforts to address domestic and gender-based violence have historically been led by women and women’s organizations. The Campaign was founded on the belief that men and boys need to step up and take action too\, challenging behaviour that leads to violence and developing a culture of healthy masculinity.
