SUMMARY:Inviting Global Healing: Climate Change Conference
DESCRIPTION:Trauma is at the root of our inaction in the face of Climate Change. Trauma symptoms of numbness\, apathy\, hyper-activation and polarisation dramatically slow down our ability to respond adequately. Trauma is the sand in the system and the reason it is so hard to implement our good intentions and climate agreements. \nAs we expand our global healing movement\, we invite you to join us for meditations\, updates from COP27\, interviews with Thomas Hübl and others\, and news from communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Join us to help restore our collective sensitivity and compassion and increase our flow of possibility and potential.

SUMMARY:World Premier ISPCAN Film Event: Inspiring Change Through Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:About the film FLOW: \nAmy is preparing for her art exhibition when a comment reignites traumatic childhood memories. She wants help but struggles with family loyalty. This film\, inspired by interviews with victims/survivors of child sexual abuse\, employs the power of storytelling to spark debate about how we\, as a society\, hinder the disclosure of childhood sexual abuse. \nThis film is based on interviews with people who are recovering from childhood sexual abuse. The creation of this film was inspired by Dr. Claire Cunnington’s Wellcome Trust funded doctoral research at the University of Sheffield and the film itself was funded by Research England.

SUMMARY:Assertiveness and Boundaries Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Being assertive is an important communication skill which can reduce your levels of depression and anxiety and improve your self esteem. Assertiveness is a communication style that helps people to express their feelings\, thoughts\, beliefs\, and opinions in an open manner that doesn’t violate the rights of others. Other communication styles you may have heard of include being aggressive\, which is a style that violates the rights of others\, and being passive where we violate our own rights. You have probably also heard of passive-aggressive. This is where someone is essentially being aggressive but in a passive or indirect way. Participants will learn to identify each of these communication styles as well as practice their newly acquired assertiveness tools in a supportive setting. \nBoundaries are clearly defined limits within which you are free to be yourself with no restrictions placed on you by others\, as to how to think\, feel\, or act. Establishing boundaries is essential to creating and maintaining mental\, physical and spiritual health. Participants will learn how boundaries influence our relationships and ways to set boundaries in an assertive way. Additionally\, participants will explore the negative effects of not setting limits and the benefits to be gained by protecting personal boundaries.

SUMMARY:Toward A Thriving Women's and Gender Justice Sector
DESCRIPTION:The pandemic exposed the systemic devaluing of the women’s and gender justice sector. There is much work to be done before we reach the conditions needed for a thriving sector but articulating a vision of what this would look like is an important step. Join us for an interactive\, solutions-focused event led by organizations that have imagined\, developed\, or implemented promising practices based on their vision of a thriving sector.
