After opening with an interactive exercise based on a 911 call\, presenters will briefly review the scientific research on stress\, trauma\, and memory\, as well as research on what works – and doesn’t – when it comes to effective investigative interviews. This scientific and practical knowledge will then be applied to best practices for: \n\nConducting an initial interview and preliminary investigation\nPlanning\, preparing\, and conducting an in-depth victim interview\nDocumenting victim statements and other investigative findings\nFollowing up with additional interviews and an evolving investigation\, and\nSupporting best practices through bold and innovative leadership\n\nThrough engaging presentation\, compelling videos\, guided activities\, and interactive Q&A with leading national experts\, participants will walk away from this session better prepared to conduct effective victim interviews and evidence-based investigations.
